Florida Property Tax Calculator

Estimate an annual Florida property tax bill with or without the homestead exemption, and compare it with the exemption levels proposed in Amendment 3 on the November 3, 2026 ballot.

How the estimate works

Under current law, a Florida homestead gets an exemption of $25,000 against all taxes, plus an additional amount (about $26,411 in 2026) against non-school taxes. Taxable value is multiplied by the millage rate, with school and non-school mills calculated separately. Read the full details in our homestead exemption guide.

A note on assessed value

If you have owned and homesteaded your home for years, your assessed value may be well below market value because of the Save Our Homes cap. Enter the assessed value from your TRIM notice. For a home you are about to buy, remember your assessed value will generally reset to market value after the sale, so do not rely on the seller's tax bill.

This is an estimate. Your county property appraiser and tax collector publish the actual figures. Amendment 3 requires at least 60% voter approval; this page will not be updated automatically after the vote.
